Rainy Days Full of Love
The forecast had been grim all week — a hurricane churning up the coast, sending sheets of rain across Pennsylvania. On the morning of the wedding at Lancaster Country Club, the wind and spitting rain felt a little glum. Most couples would have panicked. Instead, the bride and groom laughed about it, saying, “Well, we’ll have a story to tell.”
By mid-afternoon, the ceremony was moved from the terrace into a covered ceremony space outside. The reception was romanically lit with candles and bright flowers on every table. The hurricane’s howl outside became a kind of dramatic soundtrack — a reminder of nature’s wild power — while inside, there was nothing but warmth, clinking glasses, and bursts of joyful chatter.
It wasn’t the wedding they had planned — it was better.
